About Examination

University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is a national-level exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of UGC in order to select candidates for only Assistant Professor or both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges.

UGC NET Admit card will be released in July 2020 for June session exam and in the 3rd week of November 2020 for December session exam. It will be available through online mode only by entering application number and password.


Application Fee

UGC NET exam 2020 Application Fee is different for all categories.

The application fee is not refundable or transferable and to be paid through credit/ debit card or e-Challan.

Eligibility Criteria

National Testing Agency has set some guidelines for the candidates to appear in the exam. It is mandatory to satisfy these criteria by candidates to apply for the exam.

The eligibility for the UGC NET exam 2020 has been decided based on two major factors i.e. education qualification and age limit.

  1. Candidates should have completed post-graduation or enrolled for the masters to apply for this exam.
  2. Candidates require 55% marks in master’s degree for general/EWS category and 50% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD/ Transgender.
  3. Ph.D. degree holders also apply for the UGC NET June 2020.
  1. No age restriction for Assistant Professor to appear in UGC NET Exam.
  2. For JRF then your age should be 30 years or less.

Application Form Procedure

The UGC NET Application Form 2020 link has been activated from 16th March 2020 onwards. Candidates can apply online for the UGC NET 2020 exam until 30th June 2020 (extended).
