About Examination

The Indian Law Institute Common Admission Test (ILICAT) is a law entrance exam conducted by The Indian Law Institute (ILI) for admissions to one-year LLM course offered by the Institute.

ILICAT 2020 Exam Dates are decided and announced by ILI (Indian Law Institute). The exam will be conducted in June 2020.

Application Fee

Candidates can pay the application fee either in the online (Debit card/ Credit card/ Net Banking) or Offline mode (Demand Draft).

Exam Pattern

This year due to COVID-19 pandemic, the question paper of ILI CAT 2020 will not be carrying subjective-type of questions rather there will be objective type questions of 140 marks. Moreover, the mode of examination is likely to be changed from a pen-paper test to online-proctored exam.

Syllabus

The syllabus for ILICAT 2020 has mentioned by The Indian Law Institute (ILI) along with the exam pattern.

The syllabus for each section of ILI CAT question paper is given below:

The first part of the exam comprises of questions from English and General Knowledge on topics as under:

  1. Grammar
  2. Reading Comprehension
  3. Inference-based questions
  4. Vocabulary
  5. GK related topics such as current events, science and technology, geography, historical events etc.

The objective type questions in this section will be based on:

  1. Jurisprudence
  2. Constitutional Law
  3. IPC
  4. Public International Law
  5. Commercial Law (Contract and Specific Relief Act, Partnership and Sale of Goods Act)
  6. Law of Torts
  7. Law of Limitation
  8. Environmental Law

The section will be based on legal writing on topics of law such as -

  1. Constitutional Issues
  2. Crime and Law Enforcement
  3. Education, Family, and Children's Rights
  4. Legal theories around various law subjects.
