CDS Exam

About Examination

Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) is conducted by the (UPSC) Union Public Service Commission.By Conducting this Exam ( UPSC ) Recruits Commissioned Officers in Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. UPSC has already announced CDS1 exam date 2020.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will release CDS 2 notification on August 5, 2020.

Admit Card

CDS 2020 Admit Card is expected to be released three weeks before the exam. Candidates are require to download the admit card from the UPSC official website.

 

Eligibility Criteria: Nationality, Age Limit, Marital Status, Gender

CDS 2020 Eligibility Criteria consists into 4 sections: Nationality, Age, Marital Status, Gender.

The Criteria are different for the candidates from both genders participating in this Exam. Physical fitness of the candidates plays a vital role here.

Candidate must be unmarried and must be any of the followings:

  1. A Citizen of India.
  2. A subject of Bhutan.
  3. A subject of Nepal.
  4. A permanently settled tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1962.
  5. A person of Indian origin who has intention of settling in India who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam.

Note:

  1. In Favour of their statement Candidates under 2, 3, 4 and 5 must have certificated or proof issued by the Indian Government.
  2. Certificate of eligibility are not required for Candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.
  3. In case a certificate of eligibility for a candidate isimportantcan be admitted to the examination provisionally subject to the necessary certificate being given to him/her by the Government before the declaration of result by UPSC.

 

As per UPSC declaration, the candidates should be unmarried and should not be a widower or should not be a divorcee.

Note:Candidates who are in the final year of their eligible degree can also apply for CDS. but they are required to show the proof of passing the qualifying exam by a date to be specified in the Commission’s Notice for the CDS Exam.

Syllabus of the Examination

CDS syllabus consists of three sections:

Application Form

The registration for online Application of CDS Exam 2 2020 UPSC  will start from 5th August onwards. For submitting the online application the last date is set to be 25th August 2020.

Selection Procedure

AFA, IMA, INA & Officers Training Academy posts recruitment is done on the basis of:

A Merit list is prepared on the basis of those students who obtain good marks in the written examination and SSB Interview.

Again important thing to be noted the final round of selection is based on the medical fitness for all available posts.

Note: OTA written Exam consists of only 2 tests, GK and English.
