SSC stands for Staff Selection Commission, it is a government body program which conducts exams for various post to recruit staff in ministries, department and organization of the Government of India.

It was established in 1975, In the year 1975, on 4th of November, Govt. of India formed a commission that was called Subordinate Service Commission. Later on, from 26th of September 1977, Subordinate Service Commission renamed as Staff Selection Commission that is commonly known as SSC by the masses.

SSC is one of the most well-known Government divisions of India.  SSC takes the accountability to inform applicant about jobs and vacancies. It holds responsibilities of aspirants to release posts for numerous government department and subordinate offices. The main headquarter of SSC is located in New Delhi that is the capital city of the India.

SSC Stenographer Exam is a national level Competitive Entrance Exam conducted to recruit of Grade C and Grade D jobs.

SSC invites candidates for the recruitment of Stenographer Grade C & D in a General Central Service Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ Non-Gazetted post in various Central Government Ministries/Departments, in different States & Union Territories

Eligibility Criteria:-

Some major criteria for the exam:

  • Citizenship:

The following candidate must be:

A citizen of India or

A subject of Nepal or

A subject of Bhutan or

A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962

A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya , the United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi   with the intention of permanently settling in India.

 

  • Age limit:

Maximum: 18 years

Minimum: 27 years

 The Date of Birth will be considered as per High-school or equivalent documents.

 Reserved categories will get age relaxation benefits according to the Government’s Rule & Regulations.

 

  • Education qualification :

Candidate must have passed 12th (10+2) standard or equivalent from a recognized board or university.

Candidate must be able to produce the required documents when asked for verification after qualifying SSC Stenographer 2018 Exam.

 

Pre-REQUISITES FOR APPLYING ONLINE:-

All the procedure for applying for the exam is done by online. There is some essential requirement for the SSC Stenographer exam.

All the eligible candidate must follow this instruction to fill the application form.

  • Visit the OFFICIAL SITE
  • Go to the registration link.
  • Now fill the One Time Registration (OTR) form.
  • Enter your valid details as personal and professional in the form.
  • Give a valid email id and phone number while filling the form.
  • Upload your pass port sized photograph and scanned signature, certificate according to the prescribed size.
  • Once the registration is successfully done, you will shared registration Id and password on registered mobile number and email- id.
  • The registered candidates will then be able to sign in on the official website.
  • Enter your verified details (as per documents /certificate) form registration.
  • Attached the scanned photo and signature.
  • Check all the fields in the application form to proceed.
  • Pay the application fee.
  • Submit the application form and the save and print the application form as a hardcopy.

 

About SSC Stenographer exam:-

  • Skill test

The time duration for the exam is 2 hours for the general and 2 hours 40 minutes for handicapped candidates.

Marking scheme:

Each question carries 1 mark and 0.25 will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

 

Skill Test:

Candidate who got qualifying marks in the written exam will have to appear for the skill test.

A dictation of 10mins will be given to the candidates in English/hindi at 100 WPM for Grade C and 80 WPM for Grade D. The transcription will be done on the computer.

Transcription time:

Grade ‘C’

  • English: 50mins
  • Hindi: 65mins

Grade ‘D’

  • English: 40mins
  • Hindi: 55mins
