In the year 1975, on 4th of November, Govt. of India formed a commission that was called Subordinate Service Commission. Later on, from 26th of September 1977, Subordinate Service Commission renamed as Staff Selection Commission that is commonly known as SSC by the masses. Till now, SSC consist seven regional workplaces in the India at different locations. The locations comprise some of the cities and the states such as Allahabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Guwahati and two sub-Regional headquarters are at Raipur and Chandigarh.

SSC is one of the most well-known Government divisions of India.  SSC takes the accountability to inform applicant about jobs and vacancies. It holds responsibilities of aspirants to release posts for numerous government department and subordinate offices. The main headquarter of SSC is located in New Delhi that is the capital city of the India.

Eligibility Criteria:

Some major criteria for the exam:

  • Citizenship:

The following candidate must be:

A citizen of India or

A subject of Nepal or

A subject of Bhutan or

A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962

A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Malawi with the intention of permanently settling in India.

 

  • Age limit:

Male: 18-21 years

Female: 18-25 years

  • Education qualification :

Minimum requirement for the eligibility is Matriculation or 10th pass from recognised board.

Candidates who have not acquired the essential education qualification as on 01.08.2018 will not eligible and need not apply.

SSC has introduced 54,953 vacancies for the recruitment of constables through SSC GD Exam.

About SSC GD exam and exam pattern:

SSC GD exam will be conducted in 3 main phase:

  • Written Examination (computer based exam).
  • Physical Efficiency Test(PET)
  • Physical Standard Test(PST)

Distribution of marks and Negative marks:

The written examination will be objective type test consisting of 4 sections and 25 questions asked each carrying 1 marks and 0.25 will be deducted when a question is attempted wrong. No marks will be given or deducted for not attempting question.

 

Pre-REQUISITES FOR APPLYING ONLINE:-

All the procedure for applying for the exam is done by online. So keep note it, there is some essential requirement for the SSC GD exam. You must know all the requirements and keep all the documents and details which you need to mention in the exam.

All the requirements are given below:

  • You must have the graduation/diploma/10th mark sheet to fill all the required details, which are needed.
  • You must have valid e-mail id and active mobile number because, after successful completion of registration, the commission will send you mail/SMS.
  • You must have your recent passport-sized photograph and scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format.
  • Digital size for :

Photograph: 100x200 pixels

And file must be in between 4-12kb

Signature: 140x60 pixels

And file must be in between 1-12kb

  • Download and save the file and print a hardcopy of the application for proof.

APPLICATION FEE FOR EXAM:

Candidate need to pay Rs 100/- only for the application

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category and females are exempted from paying any application fee.

Fees can pay by both offline and online mode.

It means you can pay through SBI Challan/Net banking or by using Visa, MasterCard or Maestro card or any debit card.

*fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
