The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd. is a public sector general insurance company of India. The main headquarter of the company is located in New Delhi. The company has also branches outside India i.e Nepal, Kuwait and Dubai.It was incorporated 12 September 1947 as a government-owned non-life insurance company. It was established as a completely owned subsidiary of Oriental Government Security Life Assurance Company Ltd. to execute its parent body's general insurance operations. On 2nd February 2018, the govt. of India announced the merger of Oriental Insurance with National Insurance Company Limited and United India Insurance Company.

The company had recorded a gross premium of Rs. 7282.54 crores in financial year 2013-14. And in the next 2 years the company gross over 11,100 crores in 2016-17. 

It invites application for more than 300 officers in scale cadre I from open market.

The company has developed various types of insurance covers to cater to the needs of both urban and rural population of India. Every year OICL recruits ingenious students for the post of administrative officer (AO).

Eligibility Criteria:

Few are some criteria for the eligibility for the prior exam:

  1. Citizenship: Candidate must be a subject of India
  2.  Age limit :

Minimum: 18years

Maximum: 25years

  1. Education Qualification:
  • Educational qualification should be from a recognized University/Institution/Board by Govt. of India.
  • . The candidate must possess valid mark-sheet/ Degree Certificate of the necessary qualification as on 31.07.2017.
  • Minimum 60% marks is required(50% for Ex-servicemen, SC/ST and persons with disabilities) and the candidate should have passed in English as one of the subject at SSC/HSC/Intermediate/graduation level; and knowledge of regional language.

About OICL exam:

There are 3 phases in the OICL examination:

  • Phase-I:Preliminary Examination

Candidates have to qualify by securing passing marks in each section to be shortlisted for main exam.

  • Candidate must obtain minimum score for each section in the objective test to qualify for descriptive test.
  • Negative marking: for each wrong answer 1/4th marks is assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty (both Prelims and Mains).

 

Pre-REQUISITES FOR APPLYING ONLINE:-

  • Go to the website and register yourself in the “New registration
  • And then enter the details required (name, contact, email id, address )
  • Candidates must upload his/her recent photograph with the signature
  • According to the company there are guidelines for the dimension for the image and signature

Photo dimension: 200 x 230 pixels and file must be in between 20-50kb

Signature dimension: 140 x 60 pixels and file must be in between 10-20kb

And file must be JPG or JPEG format.
